CANNELTON â€" Ernest W. Layman Sr., 77, passed away April 3, 2013 in Racine, Wis. He was born Oct. 13, 1935 in Cannelton, son of the late Wesley and Frieda (Persinger) Layman. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Wanda Lane, Ollie Lane and Helen Devillez.
Ernest had worked at Racine Steel Castings in Racine.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, drinking coffee with his son, country western music, playing the guitar and being in the outdoors.
He is survived by a son Ernest Layman Jr. (Donna); his daughters, Veronica Foster (Tim) and June Hird (Charlie), all of Racine, Wis., his grandchildren, Gregory, Nicole, Ashleigh, Aiden, Hailey, and Charles "Moosie" and several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren Carter and Aleah.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday, April 9, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel with burial in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
