TROY - Irene Roach, 93, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

She was born in Perry County May 29, 1920. She was a 1938 graduate of Tell City High School.Â Irene and her husband, Raymond, owned and operated the Double R Bar in Troy.
She was also in charge of the craft room at the Cannelton Senior Citizens for several years. She enjoyed making crafts, bingo, playing cards and the many pets she had over the years.
Irene was also a Perry County News correspondent for Troy for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Zina Kelley of Boonville.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Raymond Roach; a son, Richard Roach; her parents, Henry and Nora (Hicks) Spath; a son-in-law, Dennis Kelley and a brother, Irvin Spath.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.Â The Rev. Bill Reid officiated.Â Burial was in Troy Cemetery.
