Anna Julia "Julie" Jacobsen(1916 - 2012)

While surrounded by her family, Anna Julia (Julie) Jacobsen passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the age of 96 at her daughter's home in Southern California where she lived for the last ten years.
Born in Petaluma, California on November 10, 1916 Julie was the eldest and only daughter born to Anna Nielson and Jacob Carl Jacobsen, who were livestock dealers who migrated from Denmark Europe to Petaluma in the early 1900s. Julie worked both as a waitress at the Three Cooks Café in Petaluma and as a school bus driver for the Petaluma school district which provided for great stories during family time.
Julie married Vernon Casarotti, also of Petaluma in 1935 and together they raised seven daughters and lovingly treated the girl's husbands like they were her own sons. Later in 1964, Julie fell in love and married Robert Foster and lived in Sebastopol until his battle with cancer ended in 1976. Her dance partner and her final love was Guy Cook who cherished Julie and married her in 1977. They enjoyed dancing, camping, and fishing together until his passing in 1986.
The eldest of five children, Julie had four brothers; Elray, Henry, Herbert who have preceded her in death, yet is survived by her youngest brother Walter.

Some of Julie's recent favorite things to do were to have family visit her in southern California, play with Sassy-the family dog, watch NASCAR on the weekends and enjoy the game-show channel. Julie was a past president of Danish Lodge #126 and was a member since she was a teenager. Over the years she spent free time gardening, playing bingo, going camping and fishing, and enjoyed dancing and comedy.
Julie leaves a very large and loving family who will fondly remember her for her quick wit, and her love and devotion to her family.
