Herman A. "Herm" Jensen(2013)

Passed away in Petaluma on February 27, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Devoted father of Janice Frym and her husband David Cormier, Craig Jensen all of Petaluma, and Lori Stewart and her husband Bob of AZ. Loving grandfather of Lindsey Frym, Gregg (Monica) Gotelli all of Petaluma, Ryan Jensen of San Francisco, Cameron Jensen of Petaluma, Heidi Gilstrap, and Matt (Stephanie) Gilstrap all of Bend, OR. Great grandfather of five. Survived by his companion of over 20 years; Bertha "Bert" Balfour of Petaluma and his friend and former wife; Marilyn Jensen also of Petaluma and several nieces and nephews.
Herm was born, reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High in 1944. He immediately enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II. In 1946, after returning home from the war, he began working for his father in the family owned Coca Cola Bottling/Distribution Company of Petaluma. In 1956, he founded the L&F Distribution Company, which distributed beers in and around Sonoma County for over 20 years.
Herm was a founding member of the Petaluma Leghorns, a Semi-Pro Football Team. He played for the Leghorns from 1946 until 1953 and kept those friendships throughout his life. A member of the VFW Post 1929, the Danish Brotherhood #143, a life member of the Elks Lodge #901, and the "Birthday Boys".
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY AND CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma 94952 or Boys and Girls Club of Petaluma, 203 Maria Dr., Petaluma, CA 94954 in his memory. Private Entombment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
