Warren F. "Doc" Katen (2013 - )


Passed away at the age of 80, at home in Petaluma, CA, April 21, 2013, beloved husband for 57 years of Patricia Katen. Loving father of Matt (Margaret) Katen of Livermore and Vicki (Albert, Jr.) Mello of Santa Rosa. Cherished grandfather of Jeff Katen, Joey Katen, Mike (Trisha) Mello, Andrea Mello and Steven Mello. Dear great grandfather of Hannah Mello. Adored son of Josephine Graham of Petaluma.
A lifelong resident of Sonoma County, "Doc" was born in Santa Rosa and lived all of his life in Petaluma. He served in the U.S. Navy and was involved in the printing business for over 40 years, last as owner of Marin Graphics. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and being a fan of the S.F. Giants and 49'ers. Warren's real passion was for the Native Sons of the Golden West, where he has been a member of Nicasio Parlor #183 since 1977. He was a past Grand Trustee and chaired the Nicasio Parlor scholarship program. Warren also belonged to the Petaluma Outdoorsman, SIRS #100 and the Moreda Deer Club.
Visitation will be held, Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, with the Vigil Service being held at 7:00 p.m.. Family and friends are also invited to the Funeral Liturgy, Friday, April 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Private inurnment, Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma.
