Irene was born in Santa Rosa and spent most of her 91 years in Sonoma County. She was the eldest daughter of James and Margaret Burke.
She passed away peacefully with family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, son Bill Harrell III, and sister Jane Peraira. She is survived by beloved daughters Eileen Harrell and Jeannette Myers, both of Petaluma, and Kerin Reynolds of Oregon.
She also helped to raise adored granddaughters Merry Townsend of Australia, Bonnie Clark of Modesto, and Leslie Fuette of Clovis.
She is also leaving behind numerous grand, great, and great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and sisters Marian Thiel and Jimella Hall, both of Petaluma, and Theodora Coonradt of Utah, as well as many friends.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church, on the corner of 5th and C Streets in Petaluma. Reception to follow at Youngstown Mobile Home Park, at 911 North McDowell Blvd. in Petaluma.
