Passed away on June 11th 2014. "Bob" was born in San Francisco, CA on August 23rd, 1927. At the age of 16 he joined the Merchant Marines and traveled around the Pacific. After the war he returned to the Ocean Beach area of San Francisco and met the love of his life, Geraldine Ruth Ferrell. They were married on June 23, 1952. He began his career as a bag boy at Littleman Market, which would soon become Cala Foods, where he worked until his retirement as head buyer and advertising manager for over forty years.
They lived in Daly City and then settled in Petaluma in 1971. Bob was a real people person who was an active member of the Elks, enjoyed entertaining, attending sporting events, and above all, his family and friends. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Joyce (O'Connor) Kelly and husband Dennis, Carolyn (O'Connor) Talesfore and her husband Dennis, Steve and Jennifer O'Connor, grandchildren; Christopher Kelly, Nick Kelly, Carly Costello, Ryan Talesfore, and Casey Talesfore. He is now reuniting with his son, Robert O'Connor Jr., his wife "Jeri", and grandson Anthony Talesfore who preceded him in death.
Our family would like to thank his care givers, Joan and her daughter Jessica, Lydia, and Lila, who lovingly cared for him and his wife. We would also like to thank the staff at Kaiser in San Rafael and Petaluma for their caring support. Friends are invited to attend a memorial celebration at the Elks in Petaluma on June 26th, from 12:00 to 2:30. Memorial contributions may be made to The .
