Jeanette Katherine (Worden) Matthias, 78, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Klamath Falls, OR. Jeanette was born on February 15, 1934 in Watertown, NY to Louie and Gladys (Hardy) Wordon. She spent her childhood in New York and in the Sonoma/Marin area of California. She completed high school, then married George Matthias in Petaluma in 1952.
Jeanette was a happy, hard-working, motherly person who worked as a school cook. Her hobbies included cake decorating (for which she was famous), compiling photo books, and needlework. She enjoyed Lawrence Welk style music. Some highlights of her life were the family gathering for her 50th wedding anniversary, her vow-renewal church wedding at about the 25th year of her marriage, and the birth of her first grandchild.
Jeanette is survived by son Tom Matthias of Keno, OR; son George Matthias of Covelo, CA; brothers Paul Worden of Petaluma, CA, William Worden of CO, Jim Worden of WA, Richard Worden of Santa Rosa; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband George Matthias, sister Mary, and brothers Donald and Robert.
