Oct. 10, 1923–April 25, 2012
Anna Mengotti, 88, born October 10, 1923, in Montelago, Italy, passed away in Sacramento, CA on Wednesday, April 25, 2012.
Kind, caring, giving, and beloved by all who knew her. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered by all for her delicious food and her warm hospitality. Her passion was her garden and she had a green thumb that was the envy of all. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She was the best mother and friend anyone could ever have. She will be dearly missed. However, we know that she is now at peace in the arms of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Nembrott Mengotti, and her sister Maria Antonelli. She is survived by her daughters Maria Mengotti, and Lorena (Steven) Gies, her grandchildren, Ornella Grassley, Claudio (Jennifer) Tommasi, Vania Tommasi, Alexander Gies, and Samantha Gies, her great-grandchildren, Autumn Tommasi, Daden Tommasi, Timothy Grassley, Gabriella Tommasi, and Sofia Parmenter, her sisters Silvia Santarelli and Antonia Primavera, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
As per her wishes, she will be privately interred with her husband at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Petaluma, CA. Those desiring may make a memorial donation in her name to Hanna Boys Center, P.O. Box 100, Sonoma, CA 95476-0100. A memorial mass will be held at a future date.
