Herman C. "Mack" Mahurin (1949 - 2012)

Obituary

Born in Dallas, TX on February 26, 1949 and passed away on March 15, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Gabrielle in Petaluma, of 30 years, as well as his sons Nicholas, Herman, Christopher and Michael, and 7 siblings and 5 grandchildren. Mack was a good man who lived his life to the fullest. His activities ranged from bringing his wife cross country from NY to CA in 1985 to sometimes driving her crazy with his silly antics, enjoying poker games and casino action to driving their RV across the country and traveling worldwide with Gabrielle. His family was very important to him. His sons were his pride and joy. Whether it was teaching them sports or how to drive, as long as Mack was around his family, he was a happy man.
Mack felt strongly about helping others in need, so upon his passing, he donated his body to UCSF for the advancement of medicine and research, with the hope of one day saving someone else's life. Mack felt that his death should not be mourned over, but rather we should celebrate his life by having an Omaha poker game held in his name with peanut butter and chocolate candy bars made by his favorite people. Therefore, no services were held.
A final note from his wife Gabrielle:
Thank you for our wonderful sons. Rest in peace my Boo, for I shall always love you, and you will always be in my heart.
