Passed away peacefully on July 18, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was 75 years old. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Bob Giacomini; her four daughters, Karen Howard, Diana (Sam Hagan), Lynn (Teddy Stray) and Jill (Jeff Basch); her two brothers, Darrell Ferreira (Sandy) and Leslie Ferreira (Barbara); and her eight grandchildren, Kevin and Andrew Howard; Jack Hagan; Avery and Miles Stray; and Logan, Corinna and Julia Basch.
Dean was raised on the Sacramento Delta and earned her Bachelor's Degree in education at College of the Pacific. After marrying Bob in 1958, they made their home in Point Reyes Station, California. She and Bob were partners in a successful dairy farm, which was the foundation for what is now known as Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company. One of her greatest joys was that all of her daughters were actively involved in the business with them.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 23rd at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Petaluma at 11:00 a.m. (the family will begin receiving guests at 10:00 a.m). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent's School for Boys, 1 St. Vincent Dr., San Rafael, CA 94903 or a
