Jacqueline "Jaci" Thom passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2013, she was 42. Jaci was a resident of Mill Valley and was born and raised in Novato. She attended San Ramon Elementary School in Novato and graduated from Saint Vincent's High School in Petaluma in 1988. She later attended San Diego State University where she studied Liberal Arts. Jaci worked as a preschool teacher in San Diego before returning to the Bay Area to be closer to family. Jaci was a devoted football fan and a lover of animals. She took great pride in working with children where her kind spirit and fun-loving personality was admired by many students. Jaci had a magnetic smile and added love and laughter to the lives of many. She will be dearly missed. Jaci leaves behind her father William "Bill" Thom of Novato, mother Jane Thom of Novato, sisters Liz Duffield and Maureen Thom and five nieces and nephews. She also leaves her aunt's Bette Tedford, Maureen Vogt, Jackie Sullivan and Carolyn Imhof, as well as her Uncle Gerald Sullivan and 17 cousins. She was preceded in death by her dear sister Catherine "Cathy" Thom of San Francisco.

As per Jaci's request, a private funeral was held to honor her memory. Remembrances are asked to be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
