On Sunday, April 13, 2014, Ting passed away at his home in Santa Rosa at the age of 82. He is lovingly survived by his sons Rick (Susan), Daryl (Shirlee) and Steve (Kimberly); grandchildren Jessica, Craig, Marc, Kaitlyn, Luc and Ryan; great grandson Kevin; nephews and nieces Ritz, Deni, Christina, Terri, Donna and Mike; sister-in-law Noelle Dangermond and brother and sister-in-law Ed and Sylvia Wells. He was preceded in death by his wife Helene and brother Ritz.
Born and raised in Santa Rosa, Ting was well known throughout the community and beyond. He was a member of Santa Rosa Junior Chamber of Commerce, 20/30 Club, Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, Cardinal Newman Board of Regents, Marin-Sonoma Italian Club, California Jr. Miss Pageant, Santa Rosa High School Foundation, Santa Rosa Board of Utilities and Santa Rosa City Council for 12 years, serving as mayor twice. He was a lifelong member of St. Rose Church. A veteran of the U.S.Army. His gardening produce and sausage making were enjoyed by many friends and family.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 398 Tenth St., Santa Rosa. Private interment, Calvary Catholic Cemetery. An Evening Vigil Service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 12 Noon until 5:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA. In Ting's memory, donations may be made to Cardinal Newman High School, Scholarship Fund, 50 Ursuline Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95403.
