I remember Barry as Dena's kid brother. He was a beautiful person with a kind heart. To know him was to admire him.

Yesterday we attended the Barry Weintraub funeral and burial. I hated going to both, but I am glad that I went. Hearing the stories about his kind and generous person and spirit made me feel so glad that we moved to Philadelphia and I got to spend these two very short years with him. The first time I met him was two days after we moved here, when he presented me with a bag from the kosher bakery with cookies and a couple of breads that he had bought for us to welcome us. Whenever there was a storm he would check that we were secure and had done what we needed to do protect the house. Anytime I needed to borrow a tool from him, all I had to do was ask. The same thing on those occasions when I needed a ride. Whenever I was at Congregation B'nai Israel Ohev Zedek, I would sit with him. I still have his house key with the keychain with his name on it from when I would bring in his mail while he was away. I know I only knew him two years, but he was just next door and always there when I needed him. He was always so very nice.

To the extended Weintraub family, I wish to convey my deepest condolences. I only knew Barry for a short time, but his friendly manner, kind heart and funny emails will be sadly missed. I am very sorry for your loss.

Dear family of Barry, Please accept my condolences and prayers at the death of your Dad. I worked with him at the Controller's office for a few years. He was always very kind and always spoke of his wife and kids with great love and pride. God bless. Take care.
