Please accept my sincere condolences. Although I never met you he spoke of all of you often. Please know how proud he was of all you, especially the joy he got from all of his nieces and nephews. He was a great man and anyone who ever met is better for having known him. I regret that we lost touch in recent years. I will remember him, and all the joy he brought into the world, fondly. LeTourneau Family and Friends,

I met Matt back in the mid 1990's while giving him golf lessons. He had a great passion for the game. More so of a passion for his family, friends and Fire Fighting. I remember him as a tall drink of water, wearing a brimmed golf hat( Greg Norman Shark Logo, I believe). It's been a while since seeing him, but wanted to let you know he left an impression on me as a young man with a plan who would succeed!

May the Lord give you peace and clarity and watch over you.

Mrs. LeTourneau and family. I am sorry for your loss of Matthew. We met as students at the National Fire Academy in 2015, shortly after his promotion to Lieutenant at Philadelphia FD. He always had a wealth of knowledge and contributed information for several projects in class as well as other fire-related training programs. He was a true shining star for the brothers and sisters of the Philadelphia FD. May he Rest In Peace and watch over all of us. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Vance L. Duncan III, Deputy Chief, Training Division, City of Erie, Bureau of Fire.

Although I didn't know Matt personally I feel like I did. He is truly a hero. A hero to me is someone who puts his life on the line to keep others safe without regard for their own safty. And by all accounts Matt never hesitated to do this. My brother was a long time Phila firefighter and is now retired. When he heard of Matts untimely passing he was truly sorry even though he didn't know Matt. I have been hearing of so many lives that he he touched I wish I did know him. My family had a very serious situation that required the help of the Springfield Fire Dept and Springfield Emergency Response teams around the time Matt was a Springfield firefighter. I don't know if he was involved or not. I'll never know. But it was a good outcome and I'd like to think he was there to help. So my prayers are with your family at this sorrowful time. And I'll lite a candle on Sunday in Matt's honor. Thanks for your service Matt. Michael, MaryAnn Kelly and Family. Springfield Pa.

In memory and honor of a hero, a son, a brother, Uncle ,cousin, Partner, and Friend.
I never knew Matt, but as the daughter of a retired ( Now deceased) Philly Firefighter. I know the tremendous, sad, deep loss that must be felt by all.
To his fellow firefighters, Philly and Springfield I also send my Love and sympathy. The connection and brotherhood/sisterhood between these heroes is indescribable. It is not like losing a family member, they "are" losing a family member.
To Matt's Mom, as a Mom myself, I send you my Love, My prayers and my sympathy.
Please know he will be greeted at the gates of heaven by not only his family and friends but by his fellow Firefighters who have gone before him to see God.
Matt, when you get there say Hi to my Dad, His name is Joe some of his Fire dept buddies called him Ike.

My family and I had the privilege of spending time with Matt through his participation in several blood drives that we sponsor. He always honored his commitment to donate, even after an overnight shift or before a long training day. It was another example of his dedication to saving lives and helping others. We will always consider him a special part of our blood drive family, and we send our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to all of his loved ones, friends, and colleagues.

Matt was a great man and outstanding firefighter. I helped teach him the basics when he was a rookie, then years later he was my instructor. The student became the teacher. He made me proud to know and serve with him. He will be missed by all.

To the Letourneau family, we are sadly shocked and deeply saddened by this awful tragedy. I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Matt 20 years ago. Mrs. Letourneau, you raised the kind of son that every mother wishes to have. Kind, courteous, well mannered, humorous, respectful, loving, and the list goes on and on. May God grant your family peace during this most difficult of times knowing that Matt passed into heaven doing what he loved. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Letourneau Family,
I personally had the pleasure of working with Matt at Kartman Fire Protection from October of 1997 thru December of 2006, right before he became a Phila Fire Fighter. Matt was a pleasure to work with, liked by fellow employees and clients too.
Matt made it clear upon his hire, that his goal was to become a Phila Fire Fighter and we were sad to see him him leave here, but happy he got the job he worked so hard for.
Our prayers are with you in the time of grief,he will be missed by many...
