CATHERINE RICHARDSON, January 5, 1934 - October 22, 2012. Catherine, affectionately known by Jeanie to friends and relatives was called home on October 22, 2012 to be with our Lord and Savior. She was the fourth child of the late Mary and Nathaniel Richardson. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 5, 1934. She graduated from West Philadelphia High School and went on to obtain her Bachelor's Degree in business.
She was a professional Jazz singer known as Kathy Richards. She performed in a play called Lost in the Stars- a musical tragedy. She sang along with Lou Rawls at the Pep's Musical Bar, she recorded with the Gloria Lynn Trio, she also worked with her brother Rudy Richardson, a jazz musician who played piano. She performed at other jazz entertainment places like Showboat and the like. Later she turned her talents towards making commercials and could be heard as the sexy voice on the Bell Telephone Company radio announcements.
She married a man about town named Jim Roane. The late Jim Roane preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing her brother Raymond Richardson, three sisters-in-law; Lee, Evelyn, and Ann, nieces, nephews and cousins. She had two other brothers that preceded her in death, Nate Richardson and Rudy Richardson.
