EDWIN, M.D., D.Sc., died at his home in Newtonville MA, on November 20, 2013, age 88. He was born and raised in Philadelphia. He graduated from Central High School (class 177), Harvard University and Jefferson Medical School. After his internship, he earned a degree from the Graduate School of Medicine of the U. of Pennsylvania for research in blood studies. His two years in the US Army were spent in research at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington DC.
Following his service time, he set up the medical instrumen-tation section at Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo NY. Later he worked in research at the Worcester Institute in Massachusetts and also at the American Electronics Institute in the Boston area. Although much of his working years related to medical instruments, he never lost touch with his med-ical education and had a medical practice in Newtonville MA.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Roger and Matthew and daughter, Alison; as well as his sister, Charlotte G. Glauser of Philadelphia. Funeral arrange-ments were private.
