Yes, its been 10 years since Dr. Schoenburg has passed. I do not know it made me look him up. He was a gruff curmudgeon with a heart of gold the size of Texas. I was a resident of his at the University of Chicago. I learned a lot from him and still think of him very fondly. He was always a very good, fair very wonderful person. If any of the family reads this, I hope it makes your day!

I will never forget how kind Dr. Schoenberg was to my husband and I when our daughter was ill. In 1981, we were 24 year old parents to a 1-yr.-old who needed heart and kidney surgery. Dr. Schoenberg was so sweet to Tara, and so patient with us as he explained things over and over, so we could understand. I remember his concern as she took several months to recover, and the many years of follow up visits. He was a perfect physician, and we were so lucky to have him take care of our daughter.
I just wanted to express my condolences on your loss.
