Fr. James P. CONWAY O.S.A.

FR. JAMES P., died on April 28, 2014, in the Manor Care Nursing Home in King of Prussia, PA. He was a member of the St. Thomas of Villanova Monastery Community, Villanova, Pennsylvania. Born in Brooklyn and raised in The Bronx. Was not only a devoted New York Yankees fan, but once served as team chaplain. Loved Frank Sinatra and was not ashamed to belt out his own rendition of the song New York. A true New Yorker he appreciated a hot dog or two bought from a NYC street vendor. Was proud of his Irish heritage and walked in many NYC St. Patrick's Day Parades. He was the son of the late Patrick Conway and Margaret Cribbin Conway and is survived by his sister Catherine Kelly (Patrick), niece Margarete Johnson, nephew Patrick Kelly and one great nephew Patrick. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of the Monastery of St. Thomas of Villanova, 800 E. Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA. on Friday morning, May 2, 2014, at 11 A.M. Clergy, religious, relatives and friends may visit after 10 A.M. Int. will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in New York on Mon., May 5. In lieu of flowers, the Augustinian Community of which Father Conway was a member wishes contributions to be made to: The Augustinian Fund, Care of Sick and Elderly, c/o Augustinian Provincial Office, P.O. Box 340, Villanova, PA 19085-0340.
