I had dear Beth Krush as a professor of Illustration at Moore College of Art. I last saw her on graduation day in May 1975. Very sweet lady.

Dear Joe and Jay,
I have been thinking about how much Beth has meant to me, and how much she gave me, and all of her students and friends over the years. She had such a sense of joy in everything she did, and that love was freely given. Beth's gentle way of guiding her students, and her enthusiasm for our efforts, was inspiring.
I am privileged to say that Beth was my teacher, my mentor, and ultimately, my friend. I remember her merry laugh, and her infectious sense of fun. She taught me to approach my art with professionalism, but also, and above all, with joy in the doing. She once told me that artists have a particular way of seeing the world - even if you are not earning much making art, your way of approaching the world makes you an artist. Using that definition, Beth was a true artist in everything she did.
Dear Joe, you and Beth were so much a part of my life as an artist. You both gave me so much guidance, and love. Thank you.
With all my love,
Nancy Snyder Holliday

Dear Joe and Jay,
I can't tell you how sad I am to hear of Beth's death. She was not only my favorite instructor at Moore, but the person who encouraged me to become an illustrator. She was the first person who told us about the annual exhibition at the Society of Illustrators. Both you, Joe, and Beth took a few of us to lunch there for the first time, as you were members, and we were just overcome with the history and the art!
I will miss her and never forget you all.
My heart goes out to you both at this sad time, but my memories of such warm, talented and welcoming people will stay with me the rest of my life!
with love and sympathy,
