Not sure what to say?

June 30, 2012

I just met Felicia on the bus and she shared with me that Larry passed away. I am so shocked. Last time we saw each other it was at the start of the NYC Triathlon, about six years ago. I was doing the bike portion of the race and Larry and Wade were doing the entire race. They both looked so fit and had the special handle-bars that serious triathletes have. Larry told me that he and Wade were training for a half-iron man. Felicia told me that they all completed the Lake Placid Iron Man. Amazing! When we first met training for the Westchester Tri, Larry was completing his first 1-mile swim in the Riverbank pool to qualify for a NYC swim and run. He told me he had just really learned how to swim.

Larry was such an inspiration to me and many others. He told me he went from being a coach potato, working all hours in real estate to getting himself in shape after his initial diagnosis. He was such a warm and friendly person. He would always gather a group of us to go out for a pizza or brunch after a work-out. You couldn't help but love both Larry and Wade.

It is so sad to learn that Larry is no longer with us. Wade and Larry seemed so inseparable. It's such a tremendous loss.

To the parents of Larry,
Not certain if you remember us, but I certainly remember babysitting your beautiful children. I always knew Larry would turn into a wonderful adult and by what I have read, I was correct. Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss.
