ABE, July 4, 2013 of Haverford, PA formerly of Broomall, PA. Husband of 66 years to Edith (nee Freedman). Father of Robert Lapowsky (Colleen D.), Susan Lapowsky (John Center) and Ellen Lapowsky (John Miller). Grandfather of Mollie (Peter Egginton), Isadora, Tim, Daniel, Julia and Sam. Great grandfather of Pete and Charlie. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service Sunday July 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Manor House conference room at the Quadrangle, 3300 Darby Road, Haverford, PA.

Dear Lapowsky family,
I learned of Abe's passing just today. Having grown up next door to your family, I feel as if a very meaningful part of my childhood has departed. But I am grateful for the memories I have of him and of your family. I spent a lot of time at your house and I smile as I recall your father coming to rescue his girls from their big brother teasing them. So many of us have the forever memory of countless hours spent sledding down your hill. I extend my deep and heartfelt condolences to your family at the loss of such a gentle and respected soul.

Your personal loss is a community and a professional loss as well. Having tried cases with Abe (and known Bob, even before), it was evident that he was a good family man, an honest counsel and an able litigator. As a true general practitioner Abe mastered many aspects of the law. Those pitted against this wily veteran, would learn at the hands of a master; he taught the meaning of professionalism by word and deed. Even so, he never forgot the importance of treating others with respect and dignity. Generations of lawyers would do well to emulate this consummate professional. He will be missed.
