ANN KOOPMAN Obituary

KOOPMAN


ANN of Broomall, PA, died at home on Friday Dec. 20, 2013 from complications relating to pulmonary hypertension. She was 58. Ann was a librarian and a leader in both professional library associations and local community organizations. At the time of her death she was a member of the board of directors of the Special Libraries Association. She was also active in the League of Women Voters of NJ, receiving the Distinguished Service Award in 2007 for her work as state budget director and as president of the Camden Co. chapter. From 1995-2012, she was a librarian at Thomas Jefferson Univ. Ann was also an avid cultivator of African Violets, active in both the Burlington Co. and Springfield African Violet organizations. Ann was a 1974 graduate of Lawrence Univ. in Appleton, WI and received a library degree from the Univ. of Chicago in 1981. She worked as a science and engineering librarian at Indiana Univ.-Purdue Univ. at Indianapolis from 1988-1995. From 1995-2010 she was a resident of Haddon Twp., NJ. She is survived by her husband, Eric Pumroy; and her 2 daughters, Rachel and Ruth Anne Pumroy. A Memorial Event will be held Sat. Jan. 18 from 2-4 P.M. at the Wyndham Alumnae House at Bryn Mawr College.

I was so sad to hear of Ann's passing. I enjoyed working with her at Jefferson and so appreciate her work for SLA. Such a friendly upbeat person to know and work with. Condolences to the family.
