Simply said: He was the best! He was a cherished frined to most who knew him and so much more to his family and his inner circle. The message board would be incomplete without a recitation of one of my Friend Dennis's favorite toasts: "Here is to us, and to those like us, and to those who wish to be like us because there are damned few of us left!"
Sadly, we are now one fewer.

Carol, I only met you once or twice many years ago at Coco's in Center City but wanted to extend my sympathies. I have many great memories of riding the train with Dennis on Friday nights and playing pranks on the other riders. I hope and pray you and the family can find comfort.

I first met Dennis when I was five years old. He was my oldest friend. We will miss our get-togethers on our yearly trip to Pennsylvania. Dennis was a great guy and a great Vietnam veteran. I will miss him. Our very deepest sympathies to Carol and the rest of the family.

Dennis -- I am so sorry that I won't ever see you again. You brought a lot of life to every room you entered. One consolation is that you are reunited with Jim. Carol -- I am hugging you in my heart. I am so sorry.

Just to give you an idea of the kind of spirit and sense of humor Dennis had.I remember visting him in the hospital after his his leg was amputated below the knee and he said to me "Doc, I'm not worried about the leg, but I just lost my favorite tattoo". I will cherish the many memories we shared

Dennis
I was proud to call you a friend. We shared alot of laughs and alot of serious conversation. I recall sharing with you one time that what impressed me most about you was your spirituality and it is for that reason that although you will be missed greatly by all who loved you here, I have no doubt that you are reaping the rewards of a life well lived. Goodbye my friend. I love you.

A poem in honor of my cousin, Dennis.
It was beautiful as long as it lasted
The journey of my life.
I have no regrets whatsoever
Save the pain I'll leave behind.
Those dear hearts who love and care...
And the strings pulling at the heart and soul...
The strong arms that held me up
When my own strength let me down.
At every turning of my life I came across good friends,
Friends who stood by me,
Even when the time raced me by.
Farewell, farewell, my friends
I smile and bid you goodbye.
No, shed no tears for I need them not
All I need is your smile.
If you feel sad do think of me
For that's what I'll like when you live in the hearts
Of those you love, remember then
You never die.
