DON BLENKO Obituary
DON BALMAN, of Haverford PA, on May 20, 2013. Beloved husband of Katherine "Kitty" Blenko (nee MacDonald). Loving father of David (Kathleen), Thomas (Rinat Shimshi), Dr. Katherine Blenko (Dr. Joseph Belanoff), Don Jr. (Marcia), James (Shubha Pathak) and 9 grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Walter, of Pittsburgh PA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 P.M., on May 31, 2013, at The Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Chapel, 625 Montgomery Ave., Bryn Mawr PA 19010. Interment at Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh on June 3rd at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Amherst College, Amherst MA 01002.

I remember Don as the young father of an impossibly cute neighbor girl (Destined to become Dr. Kathy) on Glen Arbor Dr. In the early '60s. Then you all moved away to Haverford. 50 years later I remember your wonderful family, and it was wonderful to learn what an outstanding life Don lived as a citizen, lawyer, father and husband.

Dear David and all your family. Thank you so much for calling. I am afraid that I will not be able to come to the service today as I have a post op medical appointment that I cannot miss. If I can get it done in time I will certainly be there at 2:30. I would really love to see you all. This is a sad time with so many memories of past times, better times. Dear Kitty, I was saddened to learn of Don's passing and want you to know that Betty Ann, were she here, would join me in sending our love and sincerest sympathies. The memories are flooding in of your connections with Betty Ann over the years. We did have many good times, didn't we?
