HAROLD HYMAN Obituary
HAROLD L. "PETE", 96, of Haverford PA. Father of the late Nancy J. Hyman and husband of the late Marie Hyman, died peacefully with his family by his side, Monday, October 22, 2012. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University, he devoted his life to the practice of medicine at the Temple University Hospital where he also served as a clinical professor of medicine and, along with Dr. William Steiger, created one of the most comprehensive teaching clinics in the country.
In 1979 he was awarded the Silver Anniversary Award from the Chapel of the Four Chaplains in recognition of his outstanding service to the community, and in 2002 he was recognized for 50 years of service by the Philadelphia College of Physicians. He will be deeply missed not only by his family but by his many friends at the Quadrangle.
Survived by his loving daughter Ruth H Melville (Stephen) of Norfolk CT. Funeral Services by BRINGHURST FUNERAL HOME AT WEST LAUREL HILL CEMETERY, 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, are private.
A Memorial Service honoring his life will be held at a later date at The Quadrangle in Haverford. Contributions, in his name, can be made to the Marie and Harold L. Hyman Endowed Scholarship at Temple Univ., Temple University, P.O. Box 827651, Phila. PA 19182.
