When we first came to the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr a few years ago, Jim was one of the first to make us feel welcome. When we soon learned that he was also fairly new to the parish, we were surprised. After all, he was so personable that he seemed at home, but what Jim did was doing was welcoming us as friends of him, and it's not an exaggeration to say that Jim was one of the kindest people we've ever met. Later, we also had the special treat of adding to that circle of friendship his wonderful wife, Dee. While we can't help but shed tears at Jim's passing, we are so very thankful that we had the chance to know this truly remarkable man. Our prayers are with Dee, and with all those who were also so blessed as to have Jim in their lives.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Pugh. I was teaching in the Lower Merion School District when he was our Superintendent. He will always be remembered as a caring individual. May you find peace in the knowledge that he made wonderful contributions while he pursued his purpose in this life. He had a life well lived.

Dear Dee,
I am so sorry to learn of your husband's passing. I think about you often as we now live close to Dover and remember your connection to this area. I sent a link to Priscilla from the News Journal.

There are no words to express my sadness. Dr. Pugh was my mentor both personally and professionally. He was an amazing friend, supporter, teacher and role model. He will be deeply missed. My family adored him and held him in such high regard. He truly is one of the reasons I got into the teaching profession. My prayers and thoughts are with Dee and his family.

My sincere sympathy to Dee Pugh and family. I appreciated his commitment to Lower Merion School District. Dr. Pugh attended numerous school events during his tenure as superintendent. I grew as a professional and appreciated many of our conversations. I remember him fondly especially working and visiting his classes when he was an instructor at West Chester.
