JOSEPH W. JR. of Bryn Mawr, PA, Executive Vice-President of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce on May 3, 2013. Beloved husband of 19 years to Patricia M. (nee McElwee) Mahoney. Loving son of Edna E. (nee Walsh) and the late Joseph W. Mahoney Sr. Dear brother of Dennis F. (Josephine) and the Rev. Shaun L. Mahoney. Son-in-law of Vincent R. and Evelyn (nee Manning) McElwee. Brother-in-law of Deacon Robert V. (Eileen), Richard C. (Janet) McElwee, and Karen (Timothy) Maloney. Also survived by his 12 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday eve from 6 to 9 pm in THE FUNERAL HOME OF JOHN STRETCH, 236 East Eagle Rd., Havertown PA 19083 and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am in St. Joseph's University Chapel, 5600 City Ave., Phila., PA 19131 and to his Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 am. Int. Calvary Cem.. In lieu of flowers an offering in Mr. Mahoney's name to St. Joseph's University at the address above would be appreciated.

May 3, 2014 will be a year since the passing of my dearest and oldest friend..I miss Joe everyday...Joe remains in my daily prayers along with Patty, and all his family...my memories of him will always be eternal.

I am devastated to hear about this. I was just sitting with Joe last Tuesday, and he was his usual, ebullient self. This is a devastating blow to the business and public policy communities, as well as personally to all those who were touched by his generosity, his warmth and his genuine caring nature. My thoughts and prayers are with his wonderful wife Pat and the family. If you need anything Pat, don't hesitate to ask. Godspeed Joe.
