MARY FRANCES "Frankie" Hanrahan of Venice, FL, died on Thursday, June 6, 2013, in Easton, Md. She was 80.
Mary Frances was born Feb. 23, 1933, in Villanova, Pa. She was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur and of Gwynedd Mercy College. She served as the Chairperson of the Vietnam Veteran's Support Committee of the Junior Women's Club of Mt. Prospect, Il, providing support and care for the wounded veterans in the Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Illinois during the Vietnam War. She also served as the President of the Corpus Christi Church Women's Guild while living in Chatham, N.J., in the 1970's.
Frankie was a loving wife and mother. Throughout her life, she particularly treasured her times with her family at the beaches in Avalon, N.J., and Outer Banks of North Carolina. She also enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong as well as golfing with her friends at the Rock Ridge Country Club in Newtown, Ct., and the Venice Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla.
She is survived by her six children, Paul and his wife Rodanthe, Chris, Geri Downey and her husband Mike, Jay and his wife Kelly, Michael and Sean; and her eight grand-children, Kaley, Chris and Garrett Hanrahan; Patrick and Katelyn Downey, and Colin, Shane and Katie Hanrahan. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Davis, of Newport, R.I., and her brother Sean Walsh of Lima, Peru; and was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Paul, and her brother, Michael J. Walsh, Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 10:00 A.M., at Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church in Easton.
