I was saddened to hear of the passing of Prof. Kroll. As a biology major, class of 1968, I had the pleasure of being his student for Botany, Plant Physiology and Genetics. He was an excellent teacher and together with Mr. Ward inspired me to continue my studies in biology. The lessons taught by these two dedicated and capable professors prepared me well for my career as a teacher of Biology and Microbiology,
It was a privilege and a joy to have been his student. My sympathy for your loss.

My dear and oldest friend no longer will suffer through heartache and struggles as he is now in the comfort of the Lord. We first met 72 years ago. He was godfather to our eldest daughter and we served as best man in each other's wedding. Till we meet again!

Mr. Kroll was an inspiring, kind professor. He taught me Botany and was always organized, clear and encouraging. Together with the recently deceased Mr. Ward, they ran a good solid undergraduate biology program and I was well prepared to enter graduate studies in that field thanks to their dedication. I'm blessed with warm memories as a student and can only imagine what a loss his family must feel. My sincere sympathy on your loss and my gratitude for the gift of his service.

Mr. Kroll was a terrific teacher. I graduated from Rosemont in '73. As a biology major, I appreciated his teaching style and wry sense of humor.

Sorry to hear of Richard's passing. We knew he was having health problems for some time. Fortunately, we were able to get together for a dinner 3 years-ago. I stood in Richards wedding party with Jean Trojak (Ploharchyk.
Connie and I living in Morton, PA would get together with Richard and Barbara on most Fridays for card games during the late sixties and with moves had lost contact with the exception of Christmas Cards. As mentioned above we did establish contact 3 years-ago.
As a classmate of Richard thru grade school (he was Safety Captain on Allegheny and Thompson and I was the Lieutenant at Madison and Thompson)and we followed each other to La Salle College.
Our sincere condolences to his family.
