RUTH WOLF Obituary
RUTH, May 11, 2013, age 94 years, of Havertown, PA. Devoted sister of Selma and Irma and sister-in-law to Nathan Bender. Although Ruth graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1939 and taught first grade in Philadelphia schools for more than 30 years, she distinguished herself as being Auntie to grandnieces Katie and Hannah and as the Aunt to Howard and Irma (Steven) and generations of their friends and neighbors. Ruth possessed great strength, energy and legendary baking skills. Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside Services, Monday May 13 at 1 P.M., at Mt. Sharon Cemetery (Sec. P), 502 E. Springfield Ave., Springfield, PA. Shiva to follow and also on Tuesday, May 14 at the late residence. Contributions in her memory may be made to www.relayforlife.org/getinvolved/donate and search for participant Hannah Sarisohn.

To this day it is hard to believe she is gone. Ruth was a marvelous friend and teacher.

Ruth was a neighbor and very close friend for over seventy years. We stayed in contact since the 40's. Without qualification she was the most vital and loving woman in my life. Within days of her passing. we made tentative plans to meet for lunch when she would be feeling better.

God Bless Ruth,she was a wonderful person.I just learned of her death. I am deeply saddened.She was a pleasure to work for.I will miss her coversations and her zest for life.

Ruth had always been a good friend and someone who always encouraged me in whatever my endeavors. I like to think that she is still doing so from heaven! There are not too many people who have as much determination, altruistic spirit and sheer brilliance as she did.

I have fond memories of Ruth Wolf, who was my 1st grade teacher and nicknamed me "Peanut." Then I learned she was a childhood friend of my mother. Then my mother and she were colleagues, teachers at Harrington Elementary School. Teacher, colleague, friend - Ruth was all that to us and more. She was family. My husband Rich and I offer our condolences and hope that all her family find comfort in many happy memories.
