SAMUEL J., May 10, 2013, of Merion Station, formerly of Narberth, PA. Beloved husband of the Late Edith L. Chester. (nee Paolini), devoted father of Leslie C. Fox and the late James S. Chester, loving grand-father of James, Michael, Lindsay, Lisa and Brittany, great grandfather of Sammy, Ryan, Michael, Devon, Braxton, and James. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wed. May 15th from 9-10 A.M. Funeral Service to commence 10 A.M. at McCONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA 19003.

Dear Leslie, Brittany, Linsay and Lisa and of course, John:
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much your father and grandfather meant to all of you. I have many wonderful memories of him in the Poconos, building, cooking, playing cards with his friends or just being grandpa to all the kids. I know the loss is tremendous, but know how much you all meant to him and what a good, long life he shared with all of you and all of your friends. I wish I could be there to give all of you a hug. You are all in my prayers and I know he is in a wonderful place, back with the wonderful woman he loved, and knowing this does not change your sadness. God Bless him and God bless all of you through your grief.

Dear Leslie,
My prayers are with you. Only though we met a few times, those memories will be truley cherished. I even refered to Mr. Samuel J. Chester as uncle Sammy. The stories, commorodity, and friendship were unsurpassed and will never be forgotten. My he be in a much better place and rest in peace with our eternal God of Love. God Bless and our sympathy is with you.

Dear Leslie and family
Please know that you are in our thoughts during this very sad time. I will remember, always, Uncle Sam with love, fondness and very happy and wonderful memories! So sad to lose the last member of our first generation Chester clan. We certainly are blessed to be born into such a wonderful and loving family. Now he has joined those he loves and they are all together in a very blessed and happy place. Love you Uncle Sam!

When I think of Uncle Sam I remember great times. I loved his stories, his laughter and kind heart. He could make his war stories come to life the way that he would tell them. He was always about family, 100%. He would brighten anyone's day with his smile and kind words. We may have lost a beautiful, wonderful, loving man on earth but heaven gained an awesome angel a few days ago. I know you will be watching over your family Uncle Sammy. I love you.

Uncle Sam was one of my favorite uncles. When he was in our presents he would be the one everyone would flock around. How I remember all the get togethers we had through the years and how great things were then. I will never forget all the talks we had and so glad I kept in touch with you! Dick and I are so happy we got to talk to you last sunday.You made me laugh with your jokes and how you remembered everything we did. You are truly amazing and will be thought of and cherished until we meet again. I Love you and will always keep you dear to my heart. We are all truly blessed to be a part of your family! I Love my Grandpop very much he was a wonderful man would do anything for anyone .. he loved spending time with his family he was a family man he loved his grandkids and great grandkids ! I will always cherish all the memories and times i spent with him especially when we were up the Mnts ! I Love u grandpop will miss u so much ! Now your a angel watching all of us from above! Our family lost a great man. Uncle Sam was a loving, caring man who loved his family more than anything. We should follow his example. Thanks for the memories Uncle Sam. We miss you and will never forget you.

I'm really thankful I was able to meet you. The times we talked are cherished. and even at 94 you had jokes, extremely valuable life lessons to teach us, awesome Woodworking jobs you've done and Great Love for your Entire Family! Devon is sitting here with while I Type. POP-POP.. and I guess now Lisa Owes ya a Hair Cut... and we never played that card game or Raced our walkers .... Now you get to go and eat Heavenly Fruits! I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.
