ANN LAND Obituary
ANN J. (nee Nancy Chambers) died peacefully on March 9, 2010 surrounded by her family, of Sea Isle City, NJ, formerly of Phila. (East Falls).
Mrs. Land was a former Phila. City Council member for 10 years, representing the 4th Councilmanic District. Beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Land. Devoted mother of Ann Marie (Joanne Lentz), Susan Pownall (Tony Longacre), Patricia (PZ), and the late John Jr. and Robert Land. Cherished grandmother of Robin, Casey, Johnathan, Raymond, Christopher and Timothy. Loving great grandmother of Colin and Dominick. Sister of Robert and the late John and Roque Chambers. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Monday, 6 to 8 P.M. and Tuesday 8:30 to 9:30 A.M., at THE CLARE McILVAINE MUNDY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7384 Ridge Ave. (cor. of Wigard Ave.) Funeral Mass at 10 A.M., St. Bridget's Church. Int. West Laurel Hill Cem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Make A Wish Foundation, One Valley Square, 512 Township Line Rd., Suite 133, Blue Bell, PA 19422.

Have thought & wondered how everyone is over the years. Remembering playing with you, as you lived across from John. I am now back in Philly. Never knew she attended Hallahan, sad it closed.

To the Children of Ann:
I was deeply sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I was out of the country and just got word yesterday.
Your mom, and dad were great people and your mom was a lady of the first order. I let Pat, Fran and Beth know. We all express our sympathy and prayers to you and I will include your mom during my Malvern Retreat next week. My mom and your mom were so funny together, especially around "politic" time. I miss my mom so and I know you miss your mom.

Dear Ann Marie and sisters and families,
I knew your Mom as a graduate of Hallahan, Class of 1950. I resided in Roxborough and many times we rode the same bus to and from high school. Ann was always a lot of fun. I will keep all of you in my prayers during this very sad time in your lives.

She was a trusted politician who added a ton of class to city hall.
