FRANCIS H., age 98, formerly of Philadelphia, peacefully passed away on September 4, 2013.
Beloved husband of 72 years to the late Davina 'Sis' Hoffman (neé Whiteside); Father to Joan (George) Boland, Thomas, James (Linda), Patricia (Harry) Casey, and the late Frank Hoffman; Also survived by his grandchildren George (Sandy) Boland, Kate (Dan) D'Angelo, Ken (Lisa) Boland, Brian (Lisa) Boland, Lisa (Scott) Obringer, Beth (Larry) Gould, Robby (Chrissy) Hoffman, Jimmy (Amanda) Hoffman, Stacey Hoffman, Scott Casey, Mike Casey, and his 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Frank worked for National Biscuit Company from 1935 to 1954, then Blumenthal Candy Co. before moving onto Kardon Industries as Chief Engineer/ VP and retiring in 1984. Frank was known for his generosity and helpful ways to many friends and family. He enjoyed watching the Phillies and going out to eat with his family. Back in the 70's and 80's he was always holding court at his favorite restaurant/watering hole, the Buck Hotel. When living on Foulkrod Street he enjoyed gardening, sitting out back listening to the Phillies and helping out his neighbors. The family would like to thank all of the personnel at Camden County Health Services Center in Blackwood, NJ for caring for Frank while there.
Join us at Frank's Life Celebration on Saturday, September 14th at 11:30 A.M. with a visitation beginning at 10:30 A.M. at McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ 08096. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, Frank would want you to treat yourself, or someone you love, to a night out on the town and to remember him in a toast. God Bless you Dad and give Mom a Hug for us.
