HAFIA BUTENIS Obituary
HAFIA (HAZEL) (nee Michalezka) on June 26, 2009 at the age of 92, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Charles P. Butenis, devoted mother of Patricia A. Butenis, Linda Butenis-Vorsa and Donna Mulraney, beloved grandmother of Charlie, Katie and Sam, and beloved mother-in-law of Nicholas Vorsa and Andrew Mulraney. She is predeceased by her siblings, Ivan, Paranka, Frank, Nick and Mary Mucowski. A longtime resident of Atco, NJ, Hafia and Charlie bought their home in Atco in 1950, moved in the house in 1954 where they raised their three daughters and took care of two grandmothers. Mom proudly volunteered hundreds of hours at West Jersey Hospital over the years. She was a member of the Assumption Church Altar and Rosary Society and the Atco Senior Citizens, along with being an avid gardener and animal lover. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the Assumption RC Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ 08004 and again on Thursday morning from 9 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Interment, Gate of Heaven, Berlin, NJ. If desired, donations may be made in Hafia's name to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 or to Assumption RC Church (address listed above). Dear Pat, Linda, and Donna,
I was just recalling such fond memories of Uncle Charlie & Aunt Hafie to a friend of mine a few weeks ago. Summer weekends in Atco, NJ, were such wonderful times. Aunt Hafie always provided a warm and caring kitchen, lots of smiles, big ol' hugs, and the best of times. Thanks for sharing your mom with us Hornak kids.

Dear Pat, Linda, and Donna,
My family sends their thoughts and prayers to your family at this time. My favorite memory is the special treat your Mom would have for Debby and I when we were trick or treating! She always had a kind work for us growing up. We were lucky to have her and Dana as neighbors.
