MARILYN N. (nee Pine), Sept. 27, 2010 of Broomall. PA. Wife of the late Alexander A. Mother of Robert Kaplan, Linda (David) Allen, Jack (Kelly) Kaplan and Carol L. (Ronald) Ruark. Sister of Mel (Carol) Pine. Also survived by grand-children, Steven Allen, Michael Allen, Bobby and Colin Ruark. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30 AM until 11:15 AM when services will begin, Friday October 1, 2010 at Temple Sholom of Broomall, 55 North Church Lane, Broomall, PA. Interment Haym Salomon Memorial Park. The family respectfully request that contributions in her memory be made to Temple Sholom or the Delaware Valley Food Bank.

Dearest Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Alex,
10 years have flown by in an eyeblink. I miss you both so much. I am grateful for the years we had with you. I will never forget the comfort you gave me and my Daughter Julia when Rena passed away on May 7, 2004. You played such a huge road in our recovery. What you did for us in your mind was nothing to be commended about. This was just what Alex and Marilyn did. I think about ya'll often and your credo: I love you and I care. This has always resonated with me. Love ya'll.

Hard to believe its going on nine years. I miss Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Alex dearly. I literally just had thoughts of them this morning. Back when Rena passed away 15 years ago, they bought me a little cute small deck table. Tiled on the top. Every time I look at it I think of them. That table made the trip from my old house in NJ to my new house in Hobe Sound, FL last week and it fits nicely on my small deck

You will never know how many people your mother touched, and who will miss her gentle voice of hope, encouragement and recovery.
Our sadness will be replaced with warm memories. If measured by how she lived every day, her life was a blessing to those she touched by her presence.

To Carol and the rest of the Kaplan family,
I was so saddened to learn of the tragic accident that took your wonderful Mom and Dad from you so suddenly. It has been too many years since my girls and I visited Temple Sholom, but I will always cherish the times I had with Marilyn and Alex. They were so special, so loving, so giving -- truly a pair of angels on earth, as they are now in heaven. Together still - as it should be - holding hands as always, and knowing Dad, probably on roller blades... is that the thunder we hear in the sky today?

Dearest Carol, Robert and all of the family. Your parents were truly a blessing for all those who knew and loved them. I sang with your mom and many times laughed with your dad. Choir and Temple Sholom will not be the same... I love you and I care echo in my heart and memory. May you be comforted now and always.

Linda, Dave, Mikey, Steven and all of you--I am so sorry about your sudden loss. Please, please remember how very much she loved each of you! Carol, Mommy and me with Colin--really? How she did/always will adore him! What was it she always said to all of you? "I love you and I care!" Wow--what love! Maybe we need to learn to follow this too always--love you all and care deeply for you as you grieve.

Kaplan Family...Peter, Adam and I are shocked at this tragedy..Marilyn and Alex were wonderful friends and part of our "famiy of choice" We all had many great conversations with Alex, plus singing with Marilyn was always a treat...May God confort you in this time of deep sorrow...We love you and we care...

Bob, my family's heart goes out to you and your family. You were there for me when both my parents passed and that speaks volumes about the wonderful parents that raised you.
