RICHARD KAJKOWSKI Obituary
RICHARD AARON, suddenly January 3, 2010, at the age of 21. Beloved son of Richard and Karen (nee McCay); dear brother of Casey, Kirstie, Chelsea and Kali; loving grand-son of Richard and Ruth Kajkowski and Robert McCay and the late Ruth; also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and his girlfriend, Breanna Depew. Relatives, friends and members of Local Steamfitters 420 are invited to his Viewing Thursday Evening, 7 to 9 P.M., and also Friday, 8:30 to 9:45 A.M., BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. (So. of Grant Ave.), followed by his Funeral Mass, 10:30 A.M., St. Timothy Church, 3001 Levick St., Phila.

This wonderful family let me spend the summer of approx. 1970 with myself Joe Diaz. And I will never forget the summer I had with this family. This is the best summer I've ever had in my life. Possibly the best summer I've ever had. They introduced me to new and exciting things and people. They took me in from the Fresh Air Fund. I consider them my family forever.

Dear Kajkowski,
I am known to talk a great deal, but at this moment I honestly do not know what to say. I do know that my heart cries with you and my mind is also trying to comprehend why such things happen.
Ricky was in my first grade class and I am sitting here remembering his face and his special smile. I have two sons myself, one of which just came out of an apprenticeship in one of the trades as well. I remember the pride I had when he graduated. I remember being awed by the fact that my son was now a man. I cannot imagine losing him like you did.
The only words that I can find is that sometime down the road the stories of Ricky will eventually bring smiles instead of tears.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. And I hope and pray that by taking each day one at a time you will be able to go on knowing that Ricky would want you to smile, not cry.

To the Kajkowski family, friends and girlfriend...I remember Ricky from grade school at St. Tim's. He was always really nice to me, even though I often got made fun of in school. I could see how loved he was today and what a wonderful person he was through all of the touching things that people had to say about him today. He is in my prayers, as are your entire family. To the family of rick, I am truly sorry for your loss. I meet rick through work. What a great person to have around. Rick could always make everybody laugh without even trying. He was also very talented kid. He picked up the trade with ease. One of the only appertices I could brag about. He will not be forgotten.

Dear Kajkowski Family,
i just met Ricky in August when my husband (Local 420), daughter and and I went to Aruba. We shared both flights with him and he has such a vibrant personality he was talking and laughing with everyone!! He has the most incredible smile, which never left his face the whole time! God bless your family at this difficult time. We will always remember him!
