1920 - 2018 Notice Condolences
Passed away peacefully on February 4, 2018 in Rosemont PA. Formerly of Villanova and Havertown, he was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (nee Feight); daughter, Marian Implazo (Michael) and son, Robert C. King, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Grande, Patricia Irey and Gloria Carpenter (John). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born on September 21, 1920, Bob was raised in Lansdowne PA. He graduated from Rutgers University before proudly serv-ing his country as an Army Air Corp lieutenant and pilot of a B-24 bomber. He was a prisoner of war in 1944 when his plane was shot down over Germany. Upon returning to the U.S., he joined Johnson & Johnson as a sales representative, and grew with the company over a notable 35 year career.
Bob was always quick with a joke. He loved to read and was a great conversationalist. Bob raised his family in Havertown PA, where he coached Little League Baseball, and was active in tennis and bowling leagues.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M., Thursday, February 8, 2018, at RUFFENACH FUNERAL HOME, 4900 Township Line, Drexel Hill PA 19026. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contribu-tions are sent to Historic Lansdowne Theatre Corp. at 31 N. Lansdowne Ave., Lansdowne PA 19050.
