To the Guerin Family:
In the late 60s into the 70s when I worked in the Registrar's office at St. Joe's, Dr. Guerin was chairman of Economics. I worked with all the Department Chairs - and he was remarkable and "rememberable" not only in his position/standing in the Economics department, but also - even then - in his unabashed living of his Catholic faith. Even then, he set a standard for what a true Christian should be. My "Economics background" was limited to the required courses I took at Immaculata (College) University, but he opened another venue for me in the field. I remembered him fondly over the years. As a medical researcher I know he was up against an unsatiable monster. May he enjoy 'paradise' now with your Mom.

Dear Guerins!: I was shocked but not surprised at the passing of "Joe". Marisa, thank you for letting me be part of this joyous farewell. He leaves behind only good memories and I was witness to a few of them. He was everything you can expect of a "wonderful" personality. He carried on the traditional simple and very personal Christmas cards dessigned by your mother. I happen to be away but I will be with all of you in spirit. Love

To the Guerin family,

I offer my condolences on your father’s passing. I remember your father from when Paul and I were in school together. I offer a prayer, for your father, now that he is at peace in God’s heaven, and for all of you, that your fond memories give you strength at this difficult time.

To the Guerin family,

My deepest sympathies to all of you over the loss of your father.

I have been fortunate to have the help of Mr. & Mrs. Guerin when me and my wife first came to America.

During my stay, Mr. Guerin helped me in the process of getting a job, adapting to the country and overall, guiding me on my start to a new life.

As I am and my family are today, I think back on his genuine kindness and work in helping others. And because of him, I am well adapted and have a comfortable life which me and my family are truly grateful for.

Again, please accept our deepest sympathies.

He will always remain in our hearts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Tiem & Hong and our children

To the Guerin family,

I am so sorry for your loss.

Dr. Guerin was the best professor I ever had. I took every class he offered in economics while I was at St. Joe's. He prepared me to be a research assistant in economics at the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC and to enter business law at the Georgetown University Law Center. He was a great educator and a wonderful person.

It was an honor to be his student.

My prayers are with you at this difficult time,

Dear Guerins,

Dave and I send you our deepest sympathy and condolences and prayers. Your father and Conchita were the quintessential Christian couple, and, in their quiet way, spoke loudly to all those who knew them and their family.

I last spoke with Joe as he was leaving Rosemont Plaza to move to hospice care in Marisa's home. He was upbeat and forthcoming: why should I fight a war with cancer and then have to fight the battle with Parkinson's?

Joe was a man of few words but when he spoke, you listened.

We consider it a privilege and an honor to have been his friend and colleague for so many years.

Love and prayers,

Gerri and Dave Burton

Dear Mike and family,
Although I never met your DAD, hearing your stories about him through the last many year, I know that he was a special person. I can see by you and your life, Michael, that your DAD was one of GOD'S very special people. I'm sure that he will be missed and thought of with LOVE, and he, I'm sure is with GOD.

Mike, and to your Mom, brothers and sisters:

I am sure your tears flow from the longing that has only begun. Shine the light of his life each day into the darkness that he so fully lit through his full and loving life.
