WANDA WILKIE, of Sebastian Florida, died May 6, 2012 in Rome, GA after a long illness. Born October 2, 1926 in Detroit Michigan, Wanda grew up in Milford Delaware. In 1950 she married John Schobelock and together raised their family primarily in Northern Virginia. She was blessed with a full life of learning and love of family. Teaching was a central theme in her life, exemplified by the way she raised her six children and helped others to learn. After graduating from West Chester State Teachers College she taught Physical Education in the Philadelphia area. She studied for post graduate degrees from Syracuse University and the University of Maryland. She had a passion for helping people overcome learning challenges; tutoring elementary students with dyslexia and volunteering with the Brevard County Literacy program.
With her warm smile and encouraging tone, Wanda left a positive imprint on her family and many friends. She embraced her Catholic faith and took great pleasure in family, saying that being a mother was her most important job in the world.
