DAVID, loving husband, devoted son and brother, age 51 of Rowlett, TX passed away June 2, 2014. He was born August 8, 1962, in Camden, NJ, to Harold and Barbara Rell. He graduated Haddonfield Memorial High School, Class of 1980 and attended Monmouth University in New Jersey. David was married on October 14, 1989, to Renee Damiens in the Immanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church of West Collingswood, NJ. He was Director of Distribution for Blockbuster, Inc. in McKinney, TX, and worked for the company for 24 years.
David is survived by his wife, Renee Rell of Rowlett, TX, mother, Barbara S. Rell of Haddonfield, NJ and sisters, Barbara (Bobbe) Rell-Young (Ken Young) of New York City, NY, and Suzanne Rell Ferguson (Charles Ferguson) of Garland, TX. He was preceded in death by his father Harold S. Rell and his nephew TJ Ferguson.
David's caring and giving nature and his strength of spirit endeared him to all. He was loved and will be missed by scores of bohemians, artists, musicians, vagabonds, throwaways, reckless business-men, feral dogs, and straight and narrow professional tightwads, all of whom, he called his friends.
A memorial service will be held 11:00am Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel with long time friend Reggie Webb, lay minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday June 5th from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
