MARGARETTA C. (nee O'Donnell), 85 of Audubon PA, passed away on June 26, 2014. Surviving are her 2 sons Albert Fitzgerald III, Thomas (Lee Anne) Fitzgerald; 6 grand-children Phillip (Maria), Virginia (Rick), Tommy, Laura (Erik), Michael, Morgan; 7 great grand-children and over 60 nieces and nephews. Margaretta was the youngest of 6 children of Neil and Anna O'Donnell. Anna emigrated from Ireland before WWI. Margaretta was born and raised in the Gesu parish of Phila. and graduated from Hallahan H.S. in 1946. She worked for the Marine Corps and met Sgt. Major John Bodnar in 1957. They married and spent 40 wonderful years together in love. Her husband John was one of only a handful of Marines who fought WWII in Europe while serving in the OSS. He was captured, sentenced to be killed as a spy, escaped and became a POW until May 1945. He received the French Legion of Honor, the Silver Star along with many other medals. They had an audience with Pope John Paul II. Relatives and friends are invited to her Life Celebration Monday June 30, 2014 from 7-9 P.M. at BOYD-HORROX FUNERAL HOME OF EAST NORRITON, 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19401. 1-800-GIVNISH. There will be a second Viewing at the church Tuesday July 1 from 10-10:50 A.M. followed by her Funeral Mass celebrated at 11 A.M. at Visitation BVM, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA 19403. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. Donations may be sent to Camilla Hall, in honor of her late sister: Sister Peter Claver IHM, 1145 King Rd., Immaculata, PA 19345.
