ALFRED, age 81, passed away on July 27, 2014. Alfred Rossi was more than just a man in the Rossi family's eyes he was a hero, an example of character, a role model of justice, courage, and strength. Most importantly he was the center point of the family. At the age of 20, he fought in the Korean war. He was sent home at age 27. Alfred had a variety of careers and job titles throughout his life but at heart he was a plumber and little did he know he would be starting a legacy. He passed on this trade to his sons Joseph, Gregory, and Alfred Jr. In total, Alfred had four sons, Gregory, Joseph, Alfred Jr., and Bruce. He was married to his wife, Vivian (nee: Holgate) for 61 years. Together they had 8 grand-children, Gianna, Vincent, Gregory Jr., Joseph Jr., Taylor, Bianca, Nina, and Maria. In his life Alfred had overcome many challenges, one of them being experiencing a terrible stroke at the age of 60. But because of his determination and will he still did the things he loved. He was the type of man who could impact the way you saw the world just by having a conversation with him. To his sons he was more than just a father, he was a mentor and taught them how to raise a family, how to survive in the world, and most importantly, what it took to be a man of honor, which was something Alfred knew a thing or two about. He had traits that you cannot find often in the world today. He had characteristics like respect, honesty, loyalty, and most of all, compassion. Alfred will live in the hearts and minds of his family and will be remembered for his personality and his way of love. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm., and again on Friday morning from 8:45 to 9:45 am., at the ANGELONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 501 Easton Road (Willow Grove, 215-659-0202). His Funeral Mass will be on Friday morning starting at 11:00 A.M., at Maternity BVM Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Ave, NE Phila. Entombment Sunset Memorial Park.
