JOHN J. "JACK", August 9, 2014.
Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Jean (nee Gough). Devoted father of Doris Dougherty (Fran), Joseph Genay (Barbara L.), Patricia Lannetti (Dan), John J." Jack Jr", Chris Genay, Robert J. (Nora), David J. (Jill) and the late Edward Genay. Dear brother of Helen Kruvczuk, Robert (Hilda), Margaret DiIenno, Florence McLaughlin (John), Ronald (Fern), Michael (Judy), Bernadette. Sadly missed by sisters-in-law, Betty and Georgeann; 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and 3 generations of nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by 6 siblings.
Jack was a double veteran serv-ing in the U.S. Army during WWII, and the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. Following the wars, he served as a Quality Assurance Specialist for the Dept. of Defense, Fire Deputy Chief for the Frankford Arsenal and Asst. Fire Marshall for Temple University. He was a founding member of Harrowgate Post 78, American Legion and a member of VFW Post 3610. Longtime resident of Harrowgate, he en-joyed his time in Wildwood Crest.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Sat. 8:30 AM, from HUBERT M. McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 2357 E. Cumberland St. Funeral Mass 10 A.M., St. Anne Church. Viewing Friday after 6 P.M. in the Funeral Home. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is respect-fully requesting memorial contributions to St. John Neumann Nursing Home, 10400 Roosevelt Blvd., Phila. PA 19116.
