NEGLER

SHAUN PATRICK, age 18 on Oct. 23, 2008. Beloved Son of Michael and Renee Negler. Loving brother of Michael Jr. and Brittany Anne. Also survived by his maternal grandparents, Barbara and Leroy Rosemiller, and paternal grandparents, the late Joseph and Dorothy Negler Sr, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Shaun was truly one of a kind. Whether on his way to treatment or at a picnic, hugs with a big smile were Shaun's way he greeted everyone. He instantly made friends wherever he went. He made you feel at ease, no matter who you were. Like a great boxer, his determination was unstoppable. The very first day of receiving his prosthetic leg, he walked into his mother's workplace refusing the use of crutches. He swaggered around the room as if he wore it for years. Shaun had many interests and hobbies. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, loving his Phillies, Eagles, The 76ers and Flyers. But the sport that was closest to his heart was boxing. And his number one favorite boxer was none other than Philadelphia's own boxing great Bernard Hopkins. He was truly inspired by Bernard's struggles in life and adopted those same principles of courage, strength and positive thinking. Those principles that Bernard used to lift himself up in both life and in the ring, Shaun used for his fight with his disease. As Shaun was inspired by these traits, we all watched in awe of how Shaun applied them to his life. That is why he will always be a world champion to his family, friends, and to all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to Shaun's Life Celebration on Tuesday Evening, October 28th from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the JOHN F. GIVNISH FUNERAL HOME, 10975 Academy Rd, Phila., PA 19154 and again Wednesday Morning from 9:15 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. followed by his 11:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Adalbert, 2645 E. Allegheny Ave. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, family requests donations, in Shaun's name, be made the Make A Wish Foundation, One Valley Square, 512 Township Line Rd., Suite 133, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
