Dear Uncle, fifteen years and I still think of you often. You were so easy to talk to and well versed on many different subjects and were not just on the topic of religion. How I wish You were here so we could talk, as I need help where my children are concerned, after all these years they still will not communicate with me, their stepdad or sister. I've tried; calling, leaving messages, writing and cannot find what created such anger.
You, in my eyes and many others, was the closest person and priest that should have been made a Saint. I am asking you, Uncle, to pray for me and my family to find peace with each other.
Until we meet again. Our love and prayers are with you Uncle, till we meet again. Sandy & Jim Minster

Dear Uncle, It is now going on 13 years since you departed. You are still dearly missed by all who had the pleasure and honor of knowing and being around you.
I have to share news with you as there is a wonderful new Pastor at our parish in North Cape May, NJ - his name is Father King. We spoke with him and It turns out that you taught Father "Canon Law" at St. Charles Seminary in Philadelphia. He is quite good and very down to earth - you taught him well. Listening to Father today brought back memories of you... I know you will be there Uncle to help him put our combined parishes - St. John Neumann & St. Raymond's back in to a Unified group. It will take many hours and Love but I know Father King will work hard to do this - LOOK WHO HE HAD FOR A TEACHER, YOU!!
You are always in our heart.
Love, Sandy & Jim

Ten years have gone by Uncle and your presence is still sadly missed. Many loved you dearly for all the comforting words, memories and guidance given to them through the years. We will always remember that you were always what religion was about; Love. I still find myself asking "How would Uncle have handled this situation" and ask through prayers for your guidance and direction. Uncle, you will always be a shining star in the heavens above and a guardian angel to your family and friends still here on earth. Until we meet again, please give our love to family members gone before us, to my son Christopher and for my children and their families here. Sandy & Jim

i AM STUNNED AT THE LOSS OF THIS GREAT AND H ELPFUL PRIEST. My work is to direct the canonization cause of Blessed Marianne Cope who worked with leprosy patients in Hawaii. When I was about to present the miracle case for her beatification the good Monsignor who did not know me at all gave me pertinent advice in matters of getting together well. He was a giant in kindness. I did not know about his death and was updating my address list and looked up his name and such a loss to us all I feel.

The mass at the Cathedral on Friday was very moving and beautiful. The Cathedral was filled with those that loved and respected him... what a wonderful tribute to Uncle and his family...A bright "Star" has been added to the heavens above. Rest in peace Uncle.

Our deepest sympathies in your loss. Msgr. Palmieri (always insisting we call him Alex - but I had to at least call him Father Alex!)was the best of priests, the best of men. We cherish our memories of him at St. Catherine of Siena. I cantored many a Sunday Mass and funeral liturgy with him as celebrant. He always asked about our oldest son Wayne who was a muscular dystrophy patient and who also passed away this past January. At that time, Alex called to express his condolences at our loss and so very much wanted to celebrate the funeral Mass but knew his health would probably prevent that. That phone conversation we had with him that day was the most precious, invaluable gift we ever received. May God bless Msgr. Palmieri! You are a priest forever! We will continue to pray for him. He is singing with the angels now!

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Msgr. Palmieri (always Alex to us) was the kindest and best of men. From the time we first met at the carnival at St. Catherine of Siena in 1986, he inspired our family to want to participate in parish activities in any way we could. He always made my children feel special, he remembered everybody's name after meeting them only one time, when he spoke to you, you felt like you were the most important person to him. His was ALWAYS the first Christmas card we received! This is a great loss to everyone who ever knew him. We will continue to pray for him every Wednesday, as he did for all of us at St. Catherine's. To the Family of Msgr. Palmieri I would like to express my deepest sympathy. I first met Alex when he was just a seminarian. He would come to our church St. Gabriel's, 29th & Dickinson Sts. and join myself & Phelim Dean on the altar to do the readings. Phelim & myself were cantors who sang on the altar with the organist "Aggie Curran". We really enjoyed him before and after mass. One day his car wouldn't start it was an old ford -65 or so, it was raining out and the choke was stuck. I was walking home and saw him trying to get it started, so I asked if he had anything I could put in to keep the choke open, he gave me his comb. I think the car is still running. God Bless you friend and until we meet again may God hold you in his hand.

Father Alex, you were a wonderful priest and person. I will always remember sitting in St. Donato's rectory between Sunday masses and listening to you and Fr. Pepe talking and laughing. I will also never forget when your family came to the rectory for the holidays while I was working and treating me like one of the family. You had a part in molding who I am today. Rest in Peace Friend.

To The Palmieri Family,
I met Monsignor when he was the Parochial Vicar at St. Catherine of Siena in Horsham and I was teaching in the school. He was such a faith-filled and joyful person. The students knew he loved being a priest. I thank God for allowing our paths to cross. He was loved and will be missed.

To The Family of Msgr. Palmieri
We met Msgr. Palmieri about 20 years ago while he was at St. Catherine Of Siena in Horsham...
He took my husband through the RCIA program, that is when he became Fr. Alex to us...Through the years, his was for sure the very first Christmas Card we would receive, we would look forward to receiving them every year...
We know that he is in Heaven with Our Lord and the Angels...
May he rest in Peace....

He will always be Fr. Alex to me! I will always remember his overwhelming joyful personality, intelligence, and beautiful voice (when music was on the agenda)! In his early days at St. D's he was the mastermind behind our newly formed St. Donato Chorale and then we moved on to become a professional choir as The Emmanuel Chorale. His love of music and his care for all people will always echo thru our voices forever! Rest in peace, Dear Father!

Msgr. Palmieri (Father Alex) was a GREAT priest and a very kind person. Our family was blessed to have known him. May he rest in peace.

Msgr. Palmieri's first year at St. Donato's was my first year as an alter boy in the 4th grade. The late Msgr. (aka: "Father Alex") was a wonderful, patient, and caring man for whom I have a great deal of respect. In a tough Phila neighborhood, Fr. Alex inspired us to live a good faith-filled life. I called and thanked him when I graduated Villanova Universtiy; I asked him to witness the marriage of my wife and I 12 years ago; and we've exchanged Christmas cards for nearly two decades. He was dearly loved and will always be in my heart, mind, and prayers. Anthony Cellucci, Jr.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Msgr. Palmieri. We knew him as Father Alex when he was our priest at St. Donato's Church. He will be surely missed. He was the best representation of a priest in our eyes. May he rest with our Lord and watch over all of us.
