ALFRED STRINGER Obituary

STRINGER
ALFRED T., age 88, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Phila., PA, where he was a life long resident. Mr. Stringer was a WW II Veteran and a prisoner of war during his service. He received the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal along with 5 Bronze Stars. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Schroeder Montford Stringer and his parents William and Mary (Wormald) Stringer, Sr. Survived by his sister Emily Stringer Hines, his brother-in-law Ervin (Miriam) Schroeder, and sisters-in-law Josephine Stringer Buggeln and Frances McNicholas. Many thanks to all the staff of Delaware Valley Veterans Home, who took such good care of Uncle Al and for the many kindnesses extended to his family. Go with God, Uncle Al, it's "okey-dokey". Your loving family will miss you. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Monday, 11:30 A.M. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. (S. of Grant Ave.). Funeral Service 12:00 P.M. Interment Beverly National Cemetery.
