CHARLES BOYCE Obituary

BOYCE
CHARLES J. SR., 85, of Abington died November 1, 2012 surrounded by his family. Charlie was born January 19, 1927 in Phila., PA to the late John and Anna Mae Boyce. He attended Roman Catholic H.S. graduating in 1944. He was a proud alumna of Roman and remembered his time there fondly. He graduated from LaSalle College in Phila. in 1957. Charlie then served in the Army as a Radio Operator in WW II in Eritrea, North Africa. He worked at the U.S. Customs House in Phila. for 10 years, then as a Budget Analyst for 32 years at the Naval Depot in Phila. He also worked as a security guard at SPS in Jenkintown for 10 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen R. (nee McGowan) of 47 years and his children: Regina High, Roseanne Tull, Charles Jr., Rita Talley, Christopher, John and the late Francis Boyce. He is the brother of John (Jack), James, Sr. Joan Dolores and Abbott Edmund Boyce; he is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was a fan of all Philadelphia teams, especially the Phillies. He was proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed Irish music and dancing. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Monday 9 to 10:15 A.M. at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 1500 Marian Rd., Abington followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Benedict's Abbey, 12605 224th Ave., Bennet Lake, WI 53102 would be appreciated. Arrs.
