MERINDA THOMPSON Obituary
MERINDA ROSE (nee Pietrafitta), age 40, on March 4, 2013, suddenly and tragically. Loving daughter of John Sr. and Merinda (nee DiBona); wife of Donald; loving mother of Michael and Christian; sister of John (Mary) and Joseph (Kari); granddaughter of Mary and Sid Pietrafitta and the late Rose and Romeo DiBona; dear aunt Skyla Rose and Gianni; also survived by loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Merinda was a valued employee of Linear Acoustics in Lancaster PA. She was a software engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering and will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Viewing Thursday eve, 7 to 9 P.M., and Friday, 8:30 to 9:30 A.M., at BALDI FUNERAL HOME, 1331 S. Broad St. (ample parking on premises). Funeral Mass will follow Viewing Friday, 10 A.M., Annunciation B.V.M. Church, 10th and Dickinson Sts. Int. Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in her name to Police and Fire Credit Union, 3338 S. Broad St., Phila. PA 19145, c/o Children's College Fund.

I was in such shock when I saw Merinda's picture on the news and heard the story. I am at a total loss for words. I was a classmate of Rin's from SMG. She was such a bright light and always willing to lend a hand to another student who needed tutoring. Her smile lit up a room and her laugh was infectious. For four years we were in almost all the same classes. Two weeks ago I attended the funeral of one of my daughter's classmates from our same high school and now I hear that Rin is gone. Rest in peace my dear friend. You touched so many lives and hearts and will live on in all of our memories. To Rin's Family... I am so very sorry for your loss. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers, especially the boys. May the love of Rin and each other bring you comfort and peace.

Merinda's son Christian and my son Drew were in preschool together. We had playdates for the boys and shared coffee,conversation and nutella recipes. I will always remember her bright smile, her beyond words intelligence and immense love for her boys. May God embrace you as you go through this very difficult time. To the Pietrafitta and Thompson Families,
I too, lost my beloved wife Bernice who ironically was also a graduate of Goretti, in a tragic accident related to Hurricane Sandy cleanup in Sea Isle City, NJ this past Thanksgiving weekend.
I feel the pain you are experiencing at this time and I know it is excruciating.
My prayer for the family is that you receive the same support that I have from family, friends and most importantly,your Faith in God. Without those three F's I truly don't know where I would be today almost 4 months later.
May Merinda Rest in Peace and may God Bless you all.

Merinda's beautiful boys went to pre school with my children. She was always excited to see them at the end of the day. Beaming with pride at every special event. She always greeted me with a smile and hello whenever we'd see each other even years later. I am truly heartbroken for the boys and all that knew and loved her. She will forever be missed!

I did not know Merinda but I attend the Y where she was a member. She is remembered as a sweet soul who always had a smile on her face. TO Merinda's family: I became friends with Merinda when our boys were babies. We shared many happy experiences together. We also were there for each other during difficult times.
