PRICE FREEMAN Obituary

FREEMAN

PRICE G., on November 5, 2013, God called him home. Devoted father, husband and Christian servant. At age 93, he had lived a life of Love--- of family, of community, of church and of service to others.
After service in WWII and college in NC, he came to Philadelphia and became a long-term Philadelphia public school teacher and a Church Deacon. Even in his final months, he was concerned about ensuring that everything would continue in his absence in the Cobbs Creek (West Philadelphia) community that he not only lived in for 50+ years, but also organized, to bring neighbors together. He died after a long illness, surrounded by the love of his son and daughter, and with his wife of 59 years, by his side. Memorial service will be held at his Church Saturday, December 7, 11 A.M., Zion Baptist Church, 3600 N. Broad St., Phila. PA 19140 (at Broad & Venango Streets - across from Temple University Hospital).
He is survived by one brother, 3 sisters; his daughter, Sharlon Logan; his son, Victor Freeman and his beloved wife, Margaret. He asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made, in his memory, to his childhood church, St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 194 Saint Johns Church Rd, Lake Lure NC 28746.
